Triple Layered Ball Resonator for Measuring Dielectric Permittivity of Substances

O. A. Suvorova, Yu. F. Filippov

Abstract

A quasi-optical dielectric resonator designed as a triple layered ball is investigated both analitically and numerically. The dispersion equation valid for arbitrary parameters and dielectric permittivity of resonator layers is derived. Numerical calculations show the determining possibility for the complex dielectric permittivity of the central layer substance by experimentally measured resonator spectral properties. The electric field strength distribution along the resonator radius, as well as its relationship to the effects observed, are shown.
