Electrons and Ions in the Jove–Iо Current Tube. Part I. Temperatures and Number Density
Abstract
The properties of the electron and ion plasma components in the Jove-Iо current tube are studied. The Jove–Io electric line is analized in brief. The tube current dependence vs. the Jovian surface magnetic induction is derived. The system of equations describing the physical state of the ion and electron tube plasma components is formulated. The radial, longitudinal and altitudinal dependencies of the temperatures and number density of charged particles are analyzed quantitatively and qualitatively.
