Resonant Increase of Magnetic Eigenmode Quality of an Open Resonator with a Spherical Metal Insertion

Abstract


Numerical experiment results on properties of magnetic eigenmodes of an open spherical-mirror resonator with a spherical perfectly conducting insertion are reported. Effect of the eigenoscillation quality enhancement by several orders of magnitude has been recognized, and its nature understood.
