Measurement of Linear or Elliptic Polarization State of Laser Radiation with Three-Grating Bolometers

Abstract


The results of experimental analysis of polarization state of wide-aperture laser radiation of a neodymium generator with a three-grating platinum profile bolometer are shown. Signals of 48 bolometer elements of gratings have been recorded with multichannel high-speed and highly sensitive analog-to-digit transformers and stored to computer. The direction angle of linear polarization of radiation has been measured with the root-mean-square deviation (RMSD) 0.52°, relative squares of semi-axes of polarization ellipse with the absolute RMSD 1.2*10-2 and their direction angles with the absolute RMSD 0.13°. The method of measurements considered can be used within a wide spectral band.
