Equation of Remote Radio Sounding in the Partial Reflection Technique

Abstract

The equation of remote radio sounding in the partial reflection technique has been derived. Model and experimental studies of the height, frequency, season and diurnal dependence of signal-to-noise ratio for the ordinary and extraordinary components of partially reflected signals are carried out. The influence of magnetic activity on this ratio is studied. The results of model studies have been shown to be in satisfactory agreement with experimental results.
