Optimal Detection and Optimal Estimation of the Parameters of Short-Term Quasi-Periodic Processes

Abstract

The statistical approach for detection and estimation of the parameters of short-term quasi-periodic processes (wave trains) against noise background which is based on the theory of optimal detection and optimal estimation is proposed. Model and experimental investigations which display the efficiency of its application are shown. The results obtained are compared with those of classical and modern methods of spectral estimation.
