Abstract


The results of observations of altitude and temporal variations in the hydrogen ions fraction for the vernal and autumnal equinoxes, winter and summer solstices during the minimum of the 23rd solar activity cycle using the incoherent scatter radar of the Institute of Ionosphere, Kharkiv, are presented. The observed variations are compared with the IRI-2012 data model. It is found that variations in the hydrogen ions fraction over Ukraine are different both qualitatively and quantitatively from the model variations.
