Laboratory Investigations of Molecular Spectra at the Institute of Radio Astronomy NAS–Ukraine

Abstract

The results of the molecular spectra investigations obtained at the Institute of Radio Astronomy of NASU for the last five years are reviewed. The molecules of interest for astrophysics (CH₃NH₂, CH₃COOH, CH₃CONH₂, NH₂CH₂COOH, NH₂CONH₂, C₄H₃OCHO) and for environmental monitoring (CF₃CH₃, CF₂Cl₃₂, CH₃CF₂Cl) were chosen as the objects of investigation. Some of these molecules feature is considerably complicated spectra due to large amplitude intramolecular motion. The results of the molecular spectra investigations are briefly discussed. The design improvement of the IRA NASU automated millimeter wave spectrometer is described too.
