Open Resonator Representation Equivalents

Abstract

The expressions for the excitation efficiency of the lowest-order oscillation in a loosely and tightly coupled open resonator (OR) are obtained. The considered OR oscillations excited by the rectangular coupling element are thus more efficient vs. those excited by the circular one. A loosely coupled OR is shown to appear as a series-resonant circuit only, while a tightly coupled one appears only as a parallel-resonant circuit.
